About this property

Welcome to Old Brewery Hostel

Old Brewery Hostel offers a straightforward lodging option housed within a stone building, providing basic accommodation with shared bathrooms. Guests have access to a communal kitchen and dining area equipped with a fridge, microwave, and seating for preparing and enjoying meals. The rooms contain individual air conditioning and heating units, memory foam beds, and blackout curtains, aiming to balance comfort and simplicity.

Located at 102 Mineral Street in Tonopah, Nevada, the property is conveniently situated just off Highway 6. It shares a connection with the adjacent Mizpah Hotel, where check-in takes place, allowing easy access to both the Tonopah Historic Mining Park and the Mizpah Club Casino, each a brief two-minute walk away. The hostel is also pet-friendly and offers free Wi-Fi, breakfast, free parking, and a restaurant, though it does not provide airport shuttle services or a pool.

Guest reviews highlight the cleanliness and quiet atmosphere, as well as considerate touches such as doggie bags for pets and a communal kitchen stocked with basic amenities. While accommodations are minimalist, many guests found the beds comfortable and the facilities well-maintained. The shared bathrooms and limited room size reflect the hostel’s budget-oriented approach, which may not suit those seeking private bathrooms or luxury features.

Visitors interested in exploring local attractions will find several options nearby, including the Tonopah Historic Mining Park, Old Tonopah Cemetery, and the Central Nevada Museum. The Eastern Sierra Regional Airport is reachable by car in nearly two hours. For those considering alternative lodging, a range of hotels is within walking distance, including the Belvada Hotel and Mizpah Hotel.

Oh my goodness! What a wonderful surprise! The beds are extremely comfortable! A very basic kitchen but so nice to reheat food. We noticed pans but saw no cook top. There is a fridge and microwave at the moments. We have two pups and they were so sweet to even give guests a small “doggie bag” that included treats and bags. The only small down side is the beds could use a proper blanket in addition to sheets but there are individual AC/heaters in the rooms.

I booked this super last minute while traveling with my dog. I'm a fella with simple needs so I booked the hostel room via a hotel booking site, but found out it was a specific room that allowed pups. The front desk fella was extremely understanding of my situation and helped me get situated without feeling like I was s.o.l. Kudos to that gentleman! Ps The check in is the Mizpah. Felt like a little house with several rooms. Clean, quiet, and close to the brewery for some good brews and grub!

Not a five star hotel but certainly a 5 star hostel. Great linen, down comforter, great heating and cooling. Clean bathrooms. Tons of towels. Check in is at the Mizpah. Pictures don't do it justice. Definitely coming back.

Great place to stay on a budget! Yes it's two communal unisex bathrooms and a communal kitchen supporting 8 rooms ($60 full/$65 queen) and the rooms are spartan, but for a good night sleep at a great price it's totally a win! 5/5 will stay again!!!

This is a great affordable option for staying in town. My husband and I arrived late at night and went to the neighboring Mizpah Hotel to get our keys to the hostel. We were shown a floor plan so we could enter the building quietly. The room was minimalist and very clean and new. The bathrooms were nice too. The bed is fairly hard and nothing special but great to crash for a night. We sat down for breakfast at the Mizpah the next morning, allowing us to experience the historic hotel a bit!

I was very pleased with my stay here. First thing to note is that this hostel is run by the Mizpah, so it seems like they have attention to detail when it comes to clean linens, towels, etc. The overhead A/C unit was new and functioned perfectly. The room temperature was exactly right and one can easily modify the temperature. The bed was a thick memory foam bed and though I am not sure if the pillows are synthetic down or actual down, I can attest pillow quality was very good. I slept very well. The entrance to the hostel requires a key and then each separate room is opened by keycard. In my unit was a small chair, rather flimsy but sufficient. There was a mounted TV with basic cable in the corner and one window with blackout curtains. There is a night stand with a lamp and a nice dresser with two drawers. There is a luggage stand as well. The floor of the hostel has a nice wood tile look and I am frankly quite impressed as it is much nicer than our flooring at home. Right when you enter there is a kitchen area with a fridge, microwave, and table with 4 chairs. WiFi is good and I was able to stream Netflix/Hulu. Down the hallway is where the bathrooms and showers are located. There are two bathrooms: one regular and one that his handicap accessible. I didn't hear any other guests. The bottom line is that we stayed at a higher priced chain hotel on our way to Tahoe and picked this place on our way out. The experience at this hostel was far superior than the chain hotel. I will choose this place next time without a doubt.

I'm actually still here. Due to the pandemic and time of year (Winter) I'm all alone. I like that! The rooms are smaller than usual, but I live in a travel trailer, so again...I'm okay with it. You check in at the Mizpah (haunted, lol, and also seen on the tv show "Turquoise Fever.") The staff is very friendly and the rooms are nice. There's a community kitchen and they have some nice touches like microwave popcorn and such. Maybe stuff left by previous guests? Anyway, it's a great place to stay and get away for awhile.

Tonopah is a highly recommended stop in the area. We were on a road trip and were looking for anything. This seemed like a cool unique place to stay and it sure was. Room was small sure, but all that we needed. Comfortable bed for two, good tv, bathrooms were nice, and had a kitchenette that we didn't use. Absolutely affordable. You gotta check-in/-out at the Mizpah right next door, and that is a really cool place to explore while staying here. We did the haunted tour while we were here which we had no idea was happening until we checked-in. Also had the breakfast at the Pittman Cafe in the Mizpah Hotel the next morning and it was excellent and obviously convenient.
